I live in Labutta Township in the Delta region. I have eight family members, and I am the third among six siblings. In 2016, after having been unable to pass the matriculation exam, I was sitting idle at home. One of my relatives encouraged me to apply for the Linking Labutta to Markets (LLM) Hospitality Training. During the house-keeping training, I gained knowledge in managing room functions, greeting guests and taking orders for food and drinks.
After the completion of the training, several 3-star hotels in Yangon and Bagan offered me a job. However, my parents wanted me to retake the matriculation exam and thus I returned to Labutta. Since then I have been working at Mingala San Eain Guest House in Labutta town and earning 140,000 MMK a month. The LLM post-training support officer constantly monitors my progress and has recommended me placements in more established hotels in Yangon. In the near future, I plan to join a renowned hotel in Yangon.
